Renewables developer Hive Energy plans to build its first solar power plants in Croatia, featuring three facilities with a combined capacity of 66 MW, in the Sisak-Moslavina and Bjelovar-Bilogora counties.

The local unit of the British firm has secured terrain on private lands and is now in the process of signing connection agreements. Two of the sites are expected to obtain all required permits by the end of 2024, while the third one needs a spatial plan insertion, according to a recent statement.

The solar plants will have a capacity of 6 MW, 50 MW and 9.99 MW, respectively. The first one is designed as an agrivoltaic farm.

Hive Energy entered the Croatian market in 2022. The company also plans additional renewable projects with more details expected to be announced in the coming months.
