OHLA will participate in the extension of the Granada Subway system
OHLA is expanding its portfolio of railway infrastructures which are essential for progress towards sustainable mobility. The company will participate in the extension of the Metropolitano de Granada for an amount close to 25 million euros (VAT included), carrying out the works to be executed in the municipalities of Armilla and Las Gabias, on a route of approximately 4.8 km in length.
The works will be divided into two sections. The first, Subsection R01, between Armilla and Churriana de la Vega, has a total length of 2,706.48 meters. It corresponds to the continuation of Line 1 of the current Granada Metro, in the Maracena-Armilla section, from its southern end in the municipality of Armilla.
The R02 subsection, between Churriana de la Vega and Las Gabias, with a total length of 2,064.94 meters, is the continuation of the Armilla-Churriana de la Vega section, from its end in the area of La Gloria.
In addition to the construction of three substations and a new office building to house a secondary control center, the contract includes power and catenary, tramway and street lighting, traffic lights, ticketing, operation support system (OSS), passenger information system (PIS) and radio, control, monitoring and communications, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system, and system integration, interface and coordination.
