GoldenPeaks Capital Holding (GPC), an independent power producer, and China National Building Material Group (CNBM) have announced plans to expand their renewable energy partnership in Europe.

The collaboration aims to develop a yearly project pipeline of 1GW, extending into new markets such as Germany, Italy, and Greece.

This move builds on a five-year successful partnership between the two companies.

GPC and CNBM outlined an ambitious plan for GPC to develop 1GW of solar projects annually across Europe.

GPC, already a significant photovoltaic system owner in Poland and Hungary, is set to increase its footprint in Western Europe.

The company currently operates 800MW of renewable energy projects, with an additional 1.4GW under construction or ready for development.

GoldenPeaks Capital founder and president Adriano Agosti said: “We are thrilled to focus on additional markets in Western Europe. In Germany we will look into several projects, but especially Bavaria, with its long sun hours and relevant industry leaders, has high potential.

“By closely collaborating with CNBM and Triumph, we are confident to meet the goal of developing 1GW of new projects on a yearly basis. Our combined expertise will allow us to unlock exceptional opportunities in the European market and beyond.”

CNBM, through its subsidiary Triumph, will provide engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services to support these developments.

Triumph, a key subsidiary of CNBM, is instrumental as the EPC contractor for GPC’s expansion.

The company provides research, engineering services, and manufacturing capabilities, ensuring a strong and efficient supply chain for extensive renewable energy projects.

CNBM chair Yuxian Zhou said: “We are proud of our joint successes of the past five years and now look forward to accelerating our growth together. This partnership underscores our shared vision of advancing clean energy on a global scale.”
