The government of Bosnia’s Serb Republic has awarded two 50-year concessions for the construction of two solar plants, with a capacity of 8 MW and 102.7 MW, respectively, local media outlet Trebinje Live reported.

The investment in the 102.7 MW Bancici solar plant in Ljubinje municipality is estimated at 154.5 million marka ($82.7 million/79 million euro). The concession has been awarded to local company KH Alter Energy, Trebinje Live reported on Wednesday.

The 8 MW solar plant Cicevo near the city of Trebinje is valued at around 10.9 million marka. The concession has been awarded to Banja Luka-based company Modul Energy.

The concession contracts will be signed in February, after the companies pay the one-off concession fee of 772,500 marka and 326,000 marka, respectively.

The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities forming Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
