LONGi sets new European benchmark with 225.9MW Project in Greece
LONGi Solar, a global leader in solar technology innovation, today announced a landmark 225.9MW agreement in Greece, marking Europe’s largest deployment of Back Contact (BC) technology to date. This milestone underscores Hi-MO 9’s dominance in utility-scale renewable energy projects and solidifies BC as the definitive future of photovoltaic innovation.
Unrivalled Scale, Unmatched Efficiency
The project leverages Hi-MO 9’s industry-leading power output of up to 660W and module conversion efficiency of 24.43% - outperforming conventional TOPCon modules by 3% in real-world energy yield. Designed for high-density installations, Hi-MO 9’s HPBC 2.0 technology ensures superior performance in Southern Europe’s high-irradiance environments while minimizing land use, a critical advantage for regions balancing ecological preservation with energy security.
A Strategic Leap for Europe’s Renewable Ambitions
With this deployment, LONGi demonstrates BC technology’s capacity to accelerate Europe’s decarbonization roadmap. The project will generate approximately 360 GWh of clean energy annually, offsetting over 200,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions - equivalent to powering 90,000 households. Its scalability also paves the way for multi-gigawatt BC adoption across the continent.
“This 225.9MW partnership isn’t just a project - it’s a declaration. Europe’s energy transition demands technology that marries uncompromising efficiency with long-term reliability, and Hi-MO 9 precisely delivers that. As the largest BC deployment in Europe, this initiative proves that solar’s ultimate frontier is here, today. We’re proud to collaborate with forward-thinking partners who recognize that BC leads renewable energy into infinite future.” said Mr. Leon Zhang, LONGi Europe President.
