Brazil carbon association delegation visits CHN Energy

Fernando Luiz Zancan, President of Associação Brasileira do Carbono Sustentável (ABCS), and his delegation visited the National Institute of Clean-and-Low-Carbon Energy (NICE) on March 13 for exchanges on topics including energy transition, low-carbon technology innovation and industrial cooperation.
During the meeting, Fernando Luiz Zancan expressed high appreciation for CHN Energy’s achievements in energy development and utilization, low-carbon technology innovation and energy transition. He also introduced Brazil’s progress in optimizing its energy mix, developing carbon markets and advancing energy transition. He expressed hope that both sides would further strengthen exchanges and cooperation, explore opportunities in areas such as coal resource exploration, green and efficient coal mining, modern coal chemical industry and CCUS, and jointly promote the green and low-carbon development of the energy sector.
NICE presented CHN Energy’s progress in clean and efficient coal utilization, coal chemical technology R&D and breakthroughs in key CCUS technologies, and stated its willingness to enhance communication and coordination with the association, deepen technical exchanges and cooperation, and jointly advance low-carbon energy technology innovation and industrial development.
In recent years, leveraging the platform of CHN Energy Europe Research GMBH, NICE has carried out cooperation on low-carbon energy technologies with countries such as Germany, Netherlands and Denmark. As an important emerging economy in the Global South, Brazil will benefit from this exchange, which is expected to further promote the cooperative application of relevant technologies in the country and expand the scope of international technology transfer.
ABCS is an important industry organization in Brazil that promotes carbon reduction and energy transition, playing an active role in advancing carbon market development, facilitating the application of low-carbon technologies, and strengthening international cooperation.
During the visit, Fernando Luiz Zancan and his delegation also visited the Ninghai Power Plant of CHN Energy Zhejiang Branch for exchanges, gaining insights into the plant’s practices in clean and efficient power generation and the application of low-carbon technologies.
