Engineering services contract awarded for 500 MW Hydrogen Project in Portugal

MadoquaPower2X, the consortium led by Madoqua Renewables along with CIP's Energy Transition Fund and Power2X has awarded NextChem a Pre-FEED engineering services contract for the development of the 500 MW MadoquaPower2X green hydrogen plant located in Sines, Portugal.
The Pre-FEED engineering services include early studies, technology and process review, modularity and logistics analysis and front-end loading of the engineering necessary to obtain the permits and licenses for the project.
MadoquaPower2X will utilize 500 MW of electrolysis capacity to produce 50,000 tons of green hydrogen yearly, as well as green ammonia plant capacity of up to 500,000 kt/y, while avoiding up to 600,000 t/y of CO2 emissions in its initial phase.
