Israeli company Enlight Renewable Energy has announced the start of initial commercial operations for its 94 MW Pupin wind farm. The project is expected to reach full commercial operations by the first quarter of 2025, six months ahead of schedule. The wind farm is equipped with 16 Nordex turbines and is strategically located next to Enlight’s existing 105 MW Kovacica wind farm, sharing the same network connection infrastructure.

The Pupin wind farm received financial support from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Erste Group Bank AG, with a total construction cost estimated between 155 million and 160 million dollars. In its first full year of operation, the wind farm is expected to generate annual revenues of 22 to 23 million dollars and an EBITDA of 16 to 17 million dollars.

Enlight has secured a 15-year, inflation-indexed power purchase agreement (PPA) with Serbian state-owned power utility EPS, which covers 72% of the wind farm’s energy output. Once fully operational, the Pupin wind farm will supply clean electricity to approximately 40,000 households in Serbia.
