UAE’s NMDC Energy awarded $1.13 billion Contract in Taiwan
NMDC Energy, UAE announced in a statement that it has been awarded a contract by Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) for the installation of subsea gas pipelines, as well as onshore engineering, construction, and dredging works for the second phase renewal project of the Tung-Hsiao Power Plant in Taiwan.
The value of the contract is $1.136 billion.
NMDC Energy will be responsible for the design, construction, and installation of marine pipelines at depths ranging from 10 to 55 meters, extending between Taichung and Tung-Hsiao on Taiwan’s west coast.
This includes the execution of works to connect the pipeline between the shore and the offshore area, over a distance of approximately 1,000 meters between the offshore section and the landfall, and dredging operations of approximately 6 million cubic meters.
In partnership with NMDC Dredging & Marine, a subsidiary of the group, and leveraging its capabilities in dredging, this project highlights the group’s integrated and multidisciplinary approach to managing and executing large and complex projects in all their aspects, including engineering, procurement, and construction.
