On the morning of September 20, 2025, QMB held a grand opening ceremony for its new electrolytic nickel production line, with an annual capacity of 30,000 tons.This event marks a major strategic milestone in GEM’s overseas expansion of its nickel resource supply chain. QMB has become the first company in Indonesia to establish a fully integrated nickel industry chain，including MHP, nickel sulfate crystals, electrolytic nickel, and high-nickel ternary precursor materials. This development not only aligns closely with the Indonesian government's policy to promote downstream industrial growth but also significantly strengthens the GEM’s competitiveness in the global market. Peng Yaguang, Senior Deputy General Manager of GEM Co., Ltd. and General Manager of QMB, attended the ceremony and unveiled the new production line.

The newly launched electrolytic nickel production line has a designed annual capacity of 30,000 tons. From equipment installation to commissioning, the entire process took only five months—once again demonstrating the industry-acclaimed “GEM Speed”. The nickel plates produced by the industrial line boast a purity exceeding 99.97%, reaching world-class quality standards. With the launch of the new production line, GEM’s global annual capacity for electrolytic nickel has reached 60,000 tons. GEM’s electrolytic nickel products have been successfully registered on both the London Metal Exchange (LME) and the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE), with its ESG-branded products gaining increased access to global markets.

QMB industrial park has successfully established core production links across nickel resource products including MHP, nickel sulfate, nickel carbonate, nickel hydroxide, nickel plates, and ternary precursors. With its continuously expanding product portfolio, QMB has emerged as a benchmark industrial hub in Indonesia—leading the way in integrated production and downstream processing across the nickel value chain.
