On October 16th, Wang Bo, Chairman of CMEC Group and CAMCE, was invited to attend the Investment, Trade and Tourism Forum of Sri Lanka at the Sri Lankan Embassy in China. Ranil Wickremesinghe, Sri Lankan President attended the forum and delivered a speech. The forum is one of Sri Lanka's commemoration events of the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road initiative and the celebration of the 66th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Sri Lanka. Xie Ke, Deputy General Manager of CMEC Group, accompanied the attendance.

After the forum, Wang Bo led the heads of subordinate enterprises of CMEC Group in Sri Lanka to visit President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

During the meeting, Wang Bo thanked President Wickremesinghe for their warm reception and reported on the development achievements of CMEC Group, CMEC, CAMCE and other member enterprises in Sri Lanka over the past two decades. He also introduced the historical evolution, business situation, advantages, and current projects being actively promoted by the group in Sri Lanka. Wang Bo stated that CMEC Group will leverage its capabilities and engage in extensive cooperation with the Sri Lankan government, enterprises, and various sectors of society to support the economic and social development of Sri Lanka and contribute to the long-standing friendship between China and Sri Lanka.

President Wickremesinghe welcomed Wang Bo to participate in the Forum. He stated that Sri Lanka and China have maintained good communications and exchanges for many years, and have a solid foundation for cooperation. He hoped that in the future, both sides would carry out comprehensive cooperation in areas of common concern. He reviewed the history of cooperation between Sri Lanka and China since the establishment of diplomatic relations, as well as the outstanding contributions made by CMEC Group to Sri Lanka's national development in the fields of electricity, water, irrigation, agriculture, etc. in the past two decades. He expressed gratitude to CMEC Group for continuously improving the living standards of Sri Lankan people.
