The Phase II of the KOSTOLAC-B Power Plant Project saw the successful completion of the 168+96 hours reliability test for Unit B3 on October 11, local time, marking the official commissioning of Serbia's largest energy project in 30 years.

This achievement was confirmed through signatures by various parties including Electric Power of Serbia and the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC).

The project was constructed by Jiangsu No. 1 Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd. (JPECC1), a CEEC subsidiary, with overall commissioning by Northwest China Electric Power Test Research Institute Co., Ltd. of CEEC’s subsidiary Science and Technology Develop Co., Ltd.

The construction of a 350-megawatt supercritical coal-fired unit burning lignite and its complete set of auxiliary systems is a key project of practical cooperation in the energy sector between China and Serbia.

It stands as the largest energy project in Serbia in nearly 30 years and the first 350-megawatt supercritical coal-fired unit exported to Central and Eastern Europe by China.

JPECC1 is tasked with the construction of the power plant's boiler, steam turbine, generator, and their auxiliary facilities.

The successful implementation of the project bridges the gap in energy cooperation between the two countries. Once operational, it will significantly ease the electricity supply shortage in Serbia and surrounding countries, and create more job opportunities and development prospects for Serbia.

Meanwhile, it will drive economic growth and infrastructure enhancement in the surrounding regions, effectively propel high-quality economic and social development in Serbia, and have a profound impact on promoting industrial synergy development, integration of industry and finance, and other aspects of bilateral cooperation.

During the project construction, the project team was guided by the vision of "empowering a beautiful China, co-creating a better world", taking the lead in action and collaborating closely.

Through cultural exchange and mutual learning, Chinese and Serbian employees worked together to tackle challenges and solve problems, achieving personal and team growth in the process. With a strong sense of responsibility, the team successfully completed the project construction to a high standard, showcasing their exceptional capabilities.
