CEEC Chairman Song Hailiang paid a visit to Robert Beugré Mambé, Prime Minister of Côte d'Ivoire in Abidjan on October 25, local time.

They discussed plans for comprehensive, in-depth, and multi-dimensional cooperation in a systematic way, with a focus on building Côte d'Ivoire into a sub-regional energy center and sub-regional international freight station, as well as the country’s industrialization, and agricultural modernization.

Beugré extended a welcome to the delegation led by Song, acknowledging and appreciating the contributions made by CEEC to the economic and social progress of Côte d'Ivoire.

He provided an overview of Côte d'Ivoire's development landscape, highlighting the country's focus on energy transition, the establishment of international logistics hubs, and advancements in industry and agriculture as outlined in its national development plan.

Describing Côte d'Ivoire as a land of opportunity, he emphasized the vast potential for collaboration between the two sides.

He underscored the significance of CEEC as a trusted partner and expressed Côte d'Ivoire's commitment to nurturing and expanding this partnership.

The prime minister encouraged CEEC to align its efforts with the specific needs of Côte d'Ivoire, leveraging its expertise to drive innovation in areas such as renewable energy, integrated transportation systems, public house construction, urban governance, and industrial zones, and increase its investment in the country to create more high-quality projects that benefit the people and serve as demonstration benchmarks.

The Côte d'Ivoire government will provide high-quality services for CEEC’s development in the country, and work together to achieve common development and mutual benefit, he said.

Song expressed his appreciation to the Côte d'Ivoire government for its care and support towards CEEC, and briefed Beugré on CEEC’s development.

Emphasizing that CEEC is a leading enterprise in “going out”, he said that the group focuses on the six areas of power, city, transportation, water, ecological environmental protection, and digitalization, fully serving the strategic goals of enriching the people through agriculture and promoting industrial development in Côte d'Ivoire.

Côte d'Ivoire holds a crucial position in the Northwest Africa region for CEEC, and the group is committed to utilizing its "eight core advantages" to concentrate on building sub-regional power generation centers, power grid connectivity, grid security and stability, oil and gas facility building, and green and low-carbon energy transformation to support Côte d'Ivoire in solidifying its role as a sub-regional energy center, Song remarked.

CEEC will work on introducing integrated transportation and energy models, expanding the "multiple countries, multiple parks" framework, and establishing a "land-sea intermodal" network to bolster Côte d'Ivoire's status as a sub-regional international freight hub, Song said.

Moreover, the group will provide comprehensive solutions for water resources in the water sector to aid in water resource development, utilization, and ecological conservation in Côte d'Ivoire. Additionally, CEEC will make efforts in elevating the entire industry chain, fostering the cluster development of key industries, and enhancing agricultural development quality to expedite the modernization of industry and agriculture in Côte d'Ivoire, he added.

Moving forward, both parties are anticipated to enhance communication and coordination to advance the implementation of key projects, Song noted.

The meeting was also joined by the deputy head of the Prime Minister's Office of Côte d'Ivoire, CEEC Chief Accountant Li Lina, as well as heads of relevant departments of both sides.
